I have had rats in my life since the late 80's and close to constant, I started breeding in 2006 until 2010 and had some of the first for unique colors and patterns within Ontario. I had some personal things arise and placed my rats with a few breeders, and managed to locate one of them to regain some new stock in 2014 to continue breeding once again. My new stock is a mix of my old bloodlines outcrossed with a few newer lines.
My children were raised with rats as companions. I have a strong understanding of genetics and use this always within any breeding plans. We keep detailed records on all of our rats, offspring and relatives that we know of to keep track of what is coming through the lines, for future reference.
The rats are raised on natural and fresh foods and proper bedding to ensure the best of health. My females only ever have 2 litters each, with a rare exception of a third if the female produced well and is in top health.
We do not have any feeder rats. We keep a small number of rats to ensure enough time for them all. Every single litter bred, is bred first with our goals in mind and at least one female is held back for future plans.
Our goal first is to produce healthy rats with proper friendly, curious characters. The dumbo ears, shaggy coats (rex) and staying focused on the colors of chocolate/lilac and blue with mink/dove. I do not breed for the general public, I do every breeding for my personal goals and plans. Our babies reserve quickly and we often suggest early reservation.
Visitor's that are seriously considering a rat addition are always welcome to come by.
